PLAN TEIGNBRIDGE | Verbatim responses to spring consultation

Teignbridge District Council have now published its proposed submission for the Local Plan 2013-33

Most of my comments on the South West of Exeter were covered in the preceding submissions on various policy areas.

However, in the Edge of Exeter facts Summary document I was specifically quoted:

Councillor Paul Bull, Cowick Ward, Exeter City Council
Community and transport infrastructure is important for the successful delivery of the project – should be in place ahead of house-building, but if not feasible must be in place alongside, under no circumstance after.

Now compare and contrast that with the comments and concerns of
Former Councillor Vanessa Newcombe, Alphington Ward, Exeter City Council
Not suitable for such intensive development
o Does not reflect the density on edge of Alphington
o No guarantee of infrastructure before houses built and therefore unacceptable
demand on schools
o Not satisfied that it is possible to take the amount of new traffic
o Severely affect character of Alphington and Exeter
Need to consider building a whole new community in Teignbridge, to the south west of Exeter with direct access to the A30

Nowhere does it refer to Cllr Newcombe as the CURRENT councillor of Alphington and Cowick on Devon County Councillor, and as such able to try and address these issues at County Hall.
